Integration Tester

What’s the role?

Our mission is to simplify the complexities of post-trade and we are seeking an experienced Integration Tester to join our growing Professional Services team in either our Toronto or London office

You will be working with the development and implementation teams, supporting client deployments and change initiatives for existing clients of Inferno, our post-trade processing platform. As an experienced Integration Tester, you will be responsible for leading testing on complex implementation projects, including all aspects of test planning, execution management and test metric reporting.

The Integration Tester will work closely with clients and colleagues to deliver business value throughout the project, from development through to go-live. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Take ownership of integration level test planning and execution, in support of the Professional Services team, and working directly with clients
  • Develop test strategies to validate end to end functionality of systems
  • Identify and prepare appropriate testing levels and cycles, along with detailed test packs
  • Prepare required testing artifacts, including test strategies and testing schedules
  • Work closely with development teams, project management and integration consultants to plan for and execute testing
  • Prepare and present testing metrics and dashboards to management and clients
  • Provide QA client support during projects, including leading testing forums and capturing testing feedback and results
  • Summarize and communicate testing issues from clients to development and professional services teams
  • Develop automated test cases

We’re looking for

  • 8+ years’ experience as a integration tester or senior QA consultant, preferably with Capital Markets/Financial Services experience
  • Proven track record of leading and executing testing cycles, along with reporting and presenting testing metrics
  • Securities post-trade knowledge and experience is a must have requirement, including equities, fixed income and financing trades. If you have Derivatives experience even better!
  • Knowledge of middle and back office workflow - including trade capture, trade confirmation/affirmation, settlement, reconciliation, accounting processes, and market practice (DTCC / SWIFT etc)
  • Experience of dealing with third party vendors (front office software vendors, exchanges / CSDs / regulators etc)
  • Technical Experience – Ability to develop automated test packs, understand scripting languages and work closely with software development teams
  • Experience working with automated test pack tools and the below would be highly desirable:
    • Jenkins CI
    • Python unittest, pywinauto
    • Jira
    • git
    • Inspect
    • Grafana
    • InfluxDB as a metric database
    • Oracle SQL
    • Prometheus
  • Experience working with BPS, Phase3, Impact, GMI, Shadow, Dataphile, ISM or similar systems a nice to have
  • Hard working and motivated, with a logical mindset that combines comprehensive QA skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced customer driven environment. Able to create and maintain momentum amongst team members and clients
  • Well organised and able to manage own time effectively. Able to influence and motivate team members not under direct supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, particularly adept at capturing metrics and presenting them to various audiences from technical to business users
  • Ability to process and summarise large quantities of technical detail, and learn quickly
